We were very sad to learn of the unexpected passing of Brian McElroy, N5HL on June 21, 2023 from a pulmonary embolism, he was only 45.
Brian was a long time employee of The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) in their Information Security department. He was very helpful to RWK in getting access and servicing of the RWK repeaters and equipment on the UTD campus, and his loss will be a large hole to fill.
Brian and his family are very active in Scouting and specifically the Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) to get scouts involved in radio. We hope that his scouting legacy will be preserved and carried on.
Brian is survived by his wife Christina and three kids.
