WELCOME TO THE RICHARDSON WIRELESS KLUB - K5RWK!

RWK, an ARRL Special Service Club, serves the Richardson community by providing self-supporting special event and emergency communication networks. RWK also promotes amateur radio to the public in Richardson and the surrounding area as a useful, life-long hobby.

Our club is comprised of individual amateur radio operators (hams) with a wide range of interests and skills. We strive to increase the number and quality of fellowship and amateur radio learning opportunities. Our membership includes hams in Richardson and the surrounding communities, ranging from 13 years of age to several radio pioneers in their 80s and 90s!

RWK provides an organizational structure and opportunities that assist members to maximize their knowledge and enjoyment of amateur radio through fun, fellowship and unique learning experiences.

Our club offers a Forum meeting on the second Monday evening each month to provide fellowship and technical presentations related to amateur radio to members and guests. The Forums are held in the multipurpose room at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church, 1220 W. Beltline Rd, Richardson, TX. Access parking and meeting rooms using the driveway at the rear of the building, off Mimosa Street. Informal time begins at 6:30 P.M. and the business meeting and Presentation segment starts at 7:30 P.M., immediately after a break for coffee and cookies. Forum attendance is free to anyone interested in amateur radio. We welcome guests, whether a licensed amateur radio operator or not.

Additionally, RWK holds a monthly breakfast on the Saturday following our Monday Forum. Breakfast is held at Cafe Brazil, 2071 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, TX (on the West service road just North of Campbell Rd. We start at 8:00 A.M. and, again, all are welcome to join the informal gathering. Recently, we have added an optional visit to one of our member's radio "shack" as a way of exchanging ideas about radio equipment, antennas, and operating techniques. We schedule the shack visit immediately following the breakfast.

Finally, we hold a "Meeting on the Air," using the Klub's two-meter repeater, on the first Monday of each month starting at 7:30 P.M. Our repeater frequency is 147.12 MHz (no tone required). The Meeting on the Air provides members and guests, who may not be able to attend a regular meeting, a chance to chat with other RWK members and keep current on the Klub's activities.

RWK publishes a monthly on-line newsletter, "The Chawed Rag," for members and others interested in the Klub's activities. You will find our newsletter archive under RWK Documents on this website. The newsletters include a list of officers and directors and their telephone numbers.

Other documents, including our New Member Welcome Kit and our Membership Application, will also be found under the RWK Documents tab.
